BLOG 33 - 11/21/2019          Are You The "Salt" of the Earth?

One of the fond memories of Grandpa's farm was when we had "butchering days." After a hog was slaughtered and butchered, Grandpa hung the ham in the smokehouse, but not before salt had been applied to the meat.

William Barclay, a theologian, said "the Romans said that salt was the purest of all things...salt gives flavor to things." Another man said, "Christianity is to life what salt is to food."

What did Jesus mean when He told His disciples that "you are the salt of the earth"? (Matthew 5:13, NIV) It's a reminder that Christians must live exemplary Christian lives.

Jesus also said to His disciples, "if the salt loses it saltiness...it is no longer good for anything." (Matthew 5:13, NIV) If we aren't living exemplary Christian lives, we become a deterrent for unbelievers.

                                                          ¿Eres la «sal» de la Tierra?

Uno de los buenos recuerdos de la granja del abuelo fue cuando tuvimos «días de matanza». Después de que un cerdo fue sacrificado, el abuelo colgó el jamón en el ahumadero, pero no antes de que se hubiera aplicado sal a la carne.

William Barclay, un teólogo, dijo que «los romanos dijeron que la sal era la más pura de todas
las cosas...sal condimenta las cosas». Otro hombre dijo: «El cristianismo es para toda la vida lo que la sal es comer».

¿Qué quiso decir Jesús cuando dijo a Sus discípulos que «ustedes son la sal de la tierra»?
(Mateo 5:13, NVI) Es un recordatorio de que los cristianos deben vivir una vida cristiana ejemplar.

Jesús también dijo a Sus discípulos: «Si la sal pierde su salinidad... ya no es bueno para nada».
(Mateo 5:13, NVI) Si no estamos viviendo una vida cristiana ejemplar, nos convertimos en un elemento disuasorio para los incrédulos.

                                 Jesus said, "I am the door of (for) the sheep." (John 10:7, KJV)

The message in this verse is about our spiritual relationship with God. Jesus came on earth to show us who God is. He is the door or the way to God. Through Him we, represented by the sheep, are made right with God.

                      Jesus is "the door" through whom we can "go in and out and find pasture."
                                                                (John 10:9, KJV)

We who enter the "door" Jesus has opened will be saved. We will inherit eternal life. We will be
freed from the guilt of sin. We can "go in and out" because we know we have access to a secure place and a life that is safe. If we truly put our lives in the hands of God, all our worries and fears should be gone. We should have all the things we need to be spiritually healthy.

                           THE SEVEN "I AMs" #2                               Blog #35 - 12/6/2019

On one winter night when I was close to the end of my paper route, I saw a purple wreath hanging on a customer's front door. The purple wreath meant somebody in that house had died. Then I saw the casket as it passed in front of me. It was getting dark, and I was afraid of the dark. The shortcut was
through the cemetery. I didn't want to take the shortcut through the cemetery because of my fear of death. Instead, I took the longer route. I ran as fast as I could from streetlight to streetlight. At each streetlight I stopped to catch my breath, then I looked around to see if somebody was out to get me. I did the same thing at each streetlight until I got inside my house.

          Jesus said, "I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness,
                                      but shall have the light of life." (John 8:12, NKJV

The message in John 8:12 refers to our spiritual nature. Jesus is the "light of the world." His "light" shines through spiritual darkness. When we feel lost and we don't know the way we should go His spiritual "light" will help us find the way. We can depend on Him because He is a trustworthy Guide.
He is the way to an abundant and meaningful life. With His "light" shining in our lives we never have to feel alone.

There is something else that we need to know. Jesus said, "He who follows me." What does that mean? If His "light" is to shine upon us we must trust Him. We must fully commit our lives to Him.

 BLOG 34 - 11/28/2019                    The Seven I AMs - #1 

                    "And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life..." (John 6:35, NIV)

When I was a young boy my father couldn't believe how much food I could eat. Even after I ate enough food to fill my stomach, I was satisfied only temporarily.

What did Jesus mean when He said, "I am the bread of life?" He was referring to something that is eternal. A "bread" that's spiritual in nature. If we have faith and trust in Him, we will experience an abundant and fulfilling life.

Jesus also said, "...he that believeth on me shall never thirst." (John 6:35, NIV) It has been said that "water is a symbol of the satisfaction of our highest need." Jesus is the fountain of living waters. He is the only One who can quench the thirst of our souls.

What is the key to living an abundant and satisfying life? It's a daily personal living relationship with Jesus Christ.

BLOG 32                         Blessed Are The Persecuted?                         English / Español

The first time I met Herschel he wasn't a Christian. We became good friends and eventually he became a Christian. Sometime after his conversion experience he told me why he hadn't become a Christian sooner. It was because he feared he would be mocked by the men where he worked. When Christians are mocked because of their Christian faith they experience one form of persecution. We need to understand we are subject to persecution if we live exemplary Christian lives.

Jesus said, "Blessed are those who are persecuted…" (Matthew 5:10, NIV) The question is how can we be blessed when we are persecuted? We are talking about a certain kind of persecution. It's "for
righteousness' sake."

Does "righteous" mean we are perfect? No, because we are still sinners saved by God's grace. "Righteous" can be explained as having a right relationship with God or as conforming to His will.
When we are "righteous," we are true friends of God. To be "blessed" is a reward. A reward for being "righteous." The reward is we enter the kingdom of heaven. It's a spiritual kingdom where God reigns. It's a great place to be, because in the kingdom of heaven we experience jubilant exultation and spiritual gladness.

                                                         ¿Dichosos los perseguidos?

La primera vez que conocí a Herschel no era cristiano. Nos hicimos buenos amigos y finalmente se
convirtió en cristiano. En algún momento después de su experiencia de conversion me dijo por qué no se había convertido en cristiano antes. Fue porque temía que fuera burlado por los hombres donde trabajaba. Cuando los cristianos son burlados debido a su fe cristiana experimentan una forma de persecución. Debemos entender que estamos sujetos a persecución si vivimos una vida cristiana ejemplar.

Dijo Jesús, "Dichosos los perseguidos…" (Mateo 5:10, NVI) La pregunta es ¿cómo podemos ser
bendecidos cuando somos perseguidos? Estamos hablando de cierto tipo de persecución. Es "por causa de la justicia".

¿Significa "justificado" que somos perfectos? No, porque todavía somos pecadores salvados por la gracia de Dios. Se puede explicar que "justificado" tiene una relación correcta con Dios o que se ajusta a Su voluntad .Cuando somos justificados os, somos verdaderos amigos de Dios. Ser "bendecido" es una recompensa. Una recompensa por ser "justificado". La recompensa es que entramos en el reino de los cielos. Es un reino espiritual donde Dios reina. Es un gran lugar para estar, porque en el reino de los cielos experimentamos júbilo y alegría espiritual.

BLOG 31 - 10/10/2019              Blessed Are The Peacemakers?           English / Español

After the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in World War II my mother told me Americans lived in constant fear that the enemy would invade the mainland. They prayed for peace. Finally, the war came to an end and a peace treaty was signed. After the war ended, the United Nations was formed to promote peace among the nations. However, as Jesus predicted, wars and rumors of war still exist.

What does the word "peace" mean in Matthew 5:9? It's something that's spiritual and internal. It's a peace we receive when we trust, love, and obey God. A peace that flows from a right relationship with God through Jesus Christ. What is the work of peace? It's the work of reconciliation or bringing into harmony. A bringing into harmony which focuses on the love of God.

Peacemakers are people who have experienced the peace of God and they proclaim it among men. Peacemakers seek to resolve conflicts not to seek revenge. They seek to do everything which is for their fellowman's highest good. It's worthy to mention the Scriptures say God is the God of peace and Jesus is the Prince of peace.

The Scriptures say God calls His peacemakers His sons and daughters. What an honor it is to be called a son or daughter of God!

Después de que los japoneses bombardeaban Pearl Harbor en la Segunda Guerra Mundial, mi madre me dijo que los estadounidenses vivían con el miedo constante de que el enemigo invadiera el continente. Oraron por la paz. Finalmente, la guerra llegó a su fin y se firmó un tratado de paz. Después de que la guerra terminó, las Naciones Unidas se formaron para promover la paz entre las naciones. Sin embargo, como Jesús predijo, todavía existen guerras y rumores de guerra.

¿Qué significa la palabra "paz" en Mateo 5:9? Es algo espiritual e interno. Es una paz que recibimos cuando confiamos, amamos y obedecemos a Dios. Una paz que brota de una relación correcta con Dios por medio de Jesucristo.¿Cuál es la obra de paz? Es el trabajo de reconciliación o poner en armonía. Una armonía que se centra en el amor de Dios.

Los pacificadores son personas que han experimentado la paz de Dios y la proclaman entre los hombres. Los pacificadores buscan resolver los conflictos para no buscar venganza. Buscan hacer todo lo que es por el bien más alto de su prójimo. Es digno mencionar las Escrituras decir que Dios es el Dios de la paz y Jesús es el Príncipe de la paz.

Las Escrituras dicen que Dios llama a Sus pacificadores Sus hijos e hijas. ¡Qué honor es ser llamado hijo o hija de Dios!                    

BLOG 30 - 10/3/2019                               The Pure In Heart                            English / Español

The word "pure" in the Bible means "to be clean or have unmixed motives." I have found out that is difficult to do. At times, I have had to ask myself the questions, "Am I serving the Lord to bring glory to Him or am I trying to make myself look good before others? When I serve the Lord are my motives mixed or unmixed?"

In the Bible the "heart" refers to the whole personality which includes the mind, the will, and the emotions. The "pure in heart" have a right relationship with the Lord. They do what is morally right.

In basic training I had an experience "that shook me up from my bootstraps." I was blindfolded. Then I was taken out into an open field. After the blindfold was taken-off I had so many seconds to spot "the enemy." I couldn't do it because I was blinded by a field full of tall grass and weeds. When "the enemy soldiers" stood-up, I saw they weren't that far from me. Suddenly, it dawned upon me in live combat I probably would have been killed.

I couldn't see "the enemy" because of a field full of tall grass and weeds. Neither can a man with a corrupt heart see God. The Bible says, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God."

La palabra "puro" en la Biblia significa "ser limpio o tener motivos no mezclados". He descubierto que es difícil de hacer. A veces, he tenido que hacerme las preguntas: "¿Estoy sirviendo al Señor para traerle gloria o estoy tratando de hacerme ver bien antes que los demás? ¿Cuando sirvo al Señor son mis motivos mezclados o no mezclados?"

En la Biblia el "corazón" se refiere a toda la personalidad que incluye la mente, la voluntad y las emociones. Los "puros de corazón" tienen una relación correcta con el Señor. Hacen lo que es moralmente correcto.

En el entrenamiento básico tuve una experiencia "que me sacudió de mis botas". Tenía los ojos vendados. Luego me sacaron a un campo abierto. Después de que la venda de los ojos fue despegada tuve tantos segundos para detectar "al enemigo". No conseguimos encontrar tu ubicación exacta. Cuando "los soldados enemigos" se pusieron de pie, vi que no estaban tan lejos de mí. De repente, me di cuenta en combate sin vida probablemente me habrían matado.

No podia ver "el enemigo" debido a un campo lleno de hierba alta y malas hierbas. Tampoco un hombre con un corazón corrupto puede ver a Dios. La Biblia dice, "Dichosos los de corazón limpio,
porque ellos verán a Dios". Mateo 5:8 (NVI)

The emphasis in the first four beatitudes is on how to enter the kingdom of God. Beginning with the fifth beatitude, the emphasis is on how to live in the kingdom of God.

Many years ago, somebody, who chose to remain anonymous, did something extra special for me and my family. That somebody must have known I was in between pastorates. At that time, I didn't have a job. On a given day, I found in my mailbox an envelope with an unsigned note in it and a check which was written for a substantial amount of money. That individual performed an act of compassion.

               "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall be shown mercy" Matthew 5:7, NIV.

What does it mean to be merciful? People who are merciful have a caring attitude. They are affected when they see others suffer. They are compassionate and they have a forgiving spirit. Nobody has been more merciful than Jesus. He healed the sick. He gave sight to a man who was blind. He gave hearing to a man who was deaf. He gave a lame man the ability to walk. Many other miracles He performed. However, His greatest act of mercy was when Jesus, God's Son, followed the will of His Heavenly Father and gave His life on a Cross for our sins. Three days later, He arose from the dead and then He became qualified to be our Lord and Savior.

El énfasis en las primeras cuatro bienaventuranzas está en cómo entrar en el reino de Dios. Comenzando con la quinta bienaventuranza, el énfasis está en cómo vivir en el reino de Dios.

Hace muchos años, alguien que eligió permanecer en el anonimato, hizo algo especial para mí y mi familia. Que alguien debe hacer sabido que estaba entre pastores. En ese momento, no tenia trabajo. En un día dado, encontré en mi buzón un sobre con una nota sin firmar en él y un cheque que fue escrito por una cantidad sustancial de dinero. Ese individuo realizó un acto de compassion.

          "Dichosos los compasivos, porque serán tratados con compasión." Mateo 5:7, NVI

¿Qué significa ser misericordioso? Las personas que son misericordiosas tienen una actitud cariñosa.
Se ven afectados cuando ven sufrir a otros. Son compasivos y tienen un espíritu indulgente. Nadie ha sido más misericordioso que Jesús. Sanó a los enfermos. Le dio vista a un hombre ciego. Se lo dio a un hombre sordo. Le dio a un hombre cojo la capacidad de caminar. Muchos otros milagros que realizó. Sin embargo, Su mayor acto de misericordia fue cuando Jesús, el Hijo de Dios, siguió la voluntad de Su Padre Celestial y dio Su vida en una Cruz por nuestro pecado. Tres días después, se levantó de entre los muertos y luego se mitó para ser nuestro Señor y Salvador.

                                              and thirst after righteousness." Matthew 5:6

It was during World War I. The German army had surrounded the soldiers in my grandfather's company. Their supplies were cut off. Some of the American soldiers became so thirsty they took the risk of going down the hill to drink water from a clear brook. My grandfather got so thirsty that when he found a little rain puddle made by an indentation of a horse's hoof, he drank it.

It is hard for me to imagine how horrible it is to be so hungry and so thirsty that a person's life is in danger. People who live in the desert may know what it is really like to be thirsty.

The Lord has high expectations as to the way He wants us to live. I yearn to be all God wants me to be. However, I know I will always be yearning to reach that goal. The Apostle Paul explains the reason why. He says, "for all have sinned and come short of the glory (praise) of God."
Romans 3:23, KJV

The words "hunger and thirst after righteousness" are key words in understanding the meaning of the fourth beatitude. For instance, "blessed are those who long for righteousness with their whole heart."

Fue durante la Primera Guerra Mundial. El ejército alemán había rodeado a los soldados en compañia de mi abuelo. Sus suministros fueron cortados. Algunos de los soldados americanos se volvieron
tan sedientos que tomó el riesgo de bajar la colina para beber agua de un arroyo claro. Mi abuelo se puso tan sediento de que cuando encontró un pequeño charco de lluvia hecho por una sangría de la pezuña de un caballo, lo bebió.

Es difícil para mi imaginar lo horrible que es tener tanta hambre y tanta sed que la vida de una persona está en peligro. Las personas que viven en el desierto pueden saber lo que realmente es tener sed.

El Señor tienes grandes expectativas en cuanto a la forma en que quiere que convivimos. Anhelo ser todo lo que Dios quiere que sea. Sin embargo, sé que siempre anhelaré alcanzar esa meta. El apóstol Pablo explica la razón por la que. Él dice, "por cuanto todos pecaron, y están destituidos de la gloria (elogio) de Dios." Romanos 3:23, Antigua Versión De Casiodoro De Reina

Las palabras "hambre y sed de justicia" son palabras clave para entender el significado de la cuarta bienaventuranza. Por ejemplo, bienaventurados los que anhelan la rectitud con todo su corazón.

           "Blessed are the meek; for they shall inherit the earth." Matthew 5:5, KJV

Why is it so important to be "meek?" 1. It's necessary to receive God's salvation. Psalm 149:4, KJV says, "For the Lord...will beautify the meek with salvation." 2. It's commanded. Zephaniah 2:3, KJV says "Seek ye the Lord, all you meek on the earth..." 3. It's necessary to receive God's Word.
James 1:21, KJV says, "...receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls." 4. It's necessary to be an effective witness. 1 Peter 3:15, KJV says, "...be ready always to give an answer to every man (who ask you for) a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear." 5. It's simply because it's necessary. 1 Peter 3:4, KJV says, "...a meek and quiet spirit...is in the sight of God a great price."

Jesus Christ is the greatest example of what it means to be "meek." "When they hurled their insults at him, he did not retaliate, when he suffered, he made no threats. Instead, he entrusted himself to him who judges justly" 1 Peter 2:23, NIV. Jesus says, "Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls" Matthew 11:29, NIV. The "meek" enter the kingdom of God and someday they will inherit the earth.

"Bienaventurados los mansos, porque ellos recibirán la tierra por heredad." Mateo 5:5, KJV

¿Por qué es tan importante ser "manso?" 1. Es necesario recibir la salvación de Dios. Dice Salmos 149:4, KJV "Porque Jehová...Hermoseará a los humildes con la salvación". 2. Está mandado. Dice Sofonías 2:3, KJV "Buscad a Jehová todos los humildes de la tierra...". 3. Es necesario recibir la Palabra de Dios. Dice Santiago 1:21, KJV "...recibid con mansedumbre la palabra implantada, la cual puede salvar vuestras almas". 4. Es necesario ser un testigo eficaz. Dice 1 Pedro 3:15, KJV "...estad siempre preparados para presentar defensa con mansedumbre y reverencia ante todo el que os demande razón de la esperanza que hay en vosotros". 5. Es simplemente porque es necesario. Dice
1 Pedro 3:4, KJV "...un espíritu afable y apacible, que es de grande estima delante de Dios".

Jesucristo es el ejemplo más grande de lo que significa ser "manso". Dice 1 Pedro 2:23, NVI "Cuando proferían insultos contra él, no replicaba con insultos; cuando padecía, no amenazaba, sino que se entregaba a aquel que juzga con justicia". En Mateo 11:29, NVI dice Jesús "Carguen con mi yugo y aprendan de mí, pues yo soy apacible y humilde de corazón, y encontrarán descanso para su alma".
Los "mansos" entran en el reino de Dios y algún día heredarán la tierra.

     BLOG 26 - 9/5/2019                THE SECOND BEATITUDE                 English / Español

"Blessed (or happy) are those who mourn, for they will be comforted" Matthew 5:4, NIV. Don't these words seem contradictory? Goodness known grief itself is not blessed. Then what does the word "mourn" mean? It isn't related to the pressure or problems we may experience as a result of living on this earth.

Someone has said the words "blessed are those who mourn" can be taken literally. For instance, blessed is the man who has endured the bitterest sorrow that life can bring. However, the best understanding of "blessed are those who mourn" probably refers to those who recognize the weight of their sin and repent. The penitent person has a change of mind and heart. The penitent person sees sin in the same way God sees it and treats it the same way God treats it. Salvation is secured by confession, repentance, and the invitation of Jesus to come into the life of the new believer. With God's Holy Spirit present and at work within the life of the believer he will be comforted.

The Scriptures say, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness" 1 John 1:9, NIV.

"Dichosos (o feliz) los que lloran, porque serán consolados" Mateo 5:4, NVI.¿No parecen contradictorias estas palabras? La bondad sabe que el dolor en sí no es bendecido. Entonces, ¿qué significa la palabra "llorar"? No está relacionado con la presión o los problemas que podemos experimentar como resultado de vivir en esta tierra.

Alguien ha dicho que las palabras "benditos son los que lloran" se pueden tomar literalmente. Por ejemplo, bendito es el hombre que ha soportado el dolor más amargo que la vida puede traer. Sin embargo, la mejor comprensión  de "benditos son aquellos que lloran" probablemente se refiere a aquellos que reconocen el peso de su pecado y se arrepienten. La persona penitente tiene un cambio de mente y corazón. La persona penitente ve el pecado de la misma manera que Dios lo ve y lo trata de la misma manera que Dios lo trata. La salvación está asegurada por la confesión, el arrepentimiento y la invitación de Jesús a entrar en la vida del nuevo creyente. Con el Espíritu Santo de Dios presente y en el trabajo dentro de la vida del creyente será consolado.

Las Escrituras dicen, "Si confesamos nuestros pecados, Dios, que es fiel y justo, nos los perdonará y nos limpiará de toda maldad" 1 Juan 1:9, NVI.

The first Beatitude says, "Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" Matthew 5:3 NIV. The word "blessed" in Greek means "to be fully satisfied." It's a joy that comes with a personal living relationship with Jesus Christ. It's a description of a believer's inner condition. It's a joy that nobody can take away.

During the Great Depression of the 1930's my grandparents were so poor they didn't have money to live in a house. Grandpa found a one-room trailer that had no wheels. The trailer was dragged by a team of horses to a place in an alley. It was a place where Grandpa didn't have to pay rent.

My grandparents lived in physical poverty. However, the words "poor in spirit" mean something different. It refers to a frame of mind. It includes focusing on Christ, having a thirst for the Word of God, and spending time in prayer. It also includes accepting Jesus Christ on His terms.

The word "kingdom" means "a society where the will of God will be done." The Apostle Paul explains why the "kingdom of heaven" will not be fully realized until we inherit our heavenly home.
He says, "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23 NIV. For instance, our personal character and our personal conduct fall short of what He wants us to be.

Es una alegría que viene con una relación de vida personal con Jesucristo. Es una descripción de la condición interior de un creyente. Es una alegría que nadie puede quitar.

Durante la Gran Depresión de los años 1930 mis abuelos eran tan pobres que no tenían dinero para vivir en una casa. El abuelo encontró un remolque de una habitación que no tenía ruedas. El remolque fue arrastrado por un equipo de caballos a un lugar en un callejón. Era un lugar donde el abuelo no tenía que pagar el alquiler.

Mis abuelos vivían en la pobreza física. Sin embargo, las palabras "pobre de espíritu" significan algo diferente. Se refiere a un marco de ánimo. Incluye centrarse en Cristo, tener sed de la Palabra de Dios y pasar tiempo en la oración. Tambien incluye aceptar a Jesucristo en Sus términos.

La palabra "reino" significa "una sociedad donde se hará la voluntad de Dios". El apóstol Pablo explica por qué el "reino de los cielos" no se realizará plenamente hasta que heredemos nuestro hogar celestial. Dice, "porque todos han pecado y se quedan cortos de la gloria de Dios" Romanos 3:23 NVI. Por ejemplo, nuestro carácter personal y nuestra conducta personal no se quedan cortos de lo que quiere que seamos.

When I was in basic training at Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, I had to do chin-ups before I ate. Each time the D.I. (Drill Instructor) told me how many chin-ups I had to do. I never had the physical strength to do the required number. In time, if I had spent more time to make myself stronger maybe I could have succeeded.

The Bible tells us we have two natures. We have a human nature and we have a spiritual nature. Physical strength is a part of our human nature. Spiritual strength comes from God.

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" (Matthew 5:8, NIV). In the Greek, the word for "pure" means "clean." For instance, to be free of bad thoughts, to be free of evil actions, or to have a right relationship with God.

I have never physically seen God. However, He has a way of making His presence known. In that sense, I can say the purer in heart we become, the more clearly we will see God.

Cuando estaba en entrenamiento básico en Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, tuve que hacer chin-ups antes de comer. Cada vez que el D.I. (instructor de perforación) me decía cuántas barbillas tenía que hacer. Nunca tuve la fuerza física para hacer el número requerido. Con el tiempo, si hubiera pasado más tiempo para hacerme más fuerte tal vez podría haber tenido éxito.  

La Biblia nos dice que tenemos dos naturalezas. Tenemos una naturaleza humana y una naturaleza
espiritual. La fuerza física es parte de nuestra naturaleza humana. La fortaleza espiritual viene de Dios.

"Dichosos los de corazón limpio, porque ellos verán a Dios." (Mateo 5:8, NVI). En griego, la palabra "puro" significa "limpio". Por ejemplo, estar libre de malos pensamientos, estar libre de acciones malignas o tener una relación correcta con Dios.

Nunca he visto físicamente a Dios. Sin embargo, tiene una manera de hacer que Su presencia sea conocida. En ese sentido, puedo decir que cuanto más puros de corazón nos volvemos, más claramente veremos a Dios.

A legend has been told about a master who had a servant that wasn't very smart. From time to time, his servant's lack of intelligence bothered him. One day, the master became so frustrated he told his servant he must be the least intelligent man he had ever known. The master gave his servant a cane and asked him to carry it with him. "If you ever meet a man who is less intelligent than you, give him the cane.

Many years passed before the servant again got to see his master. By that time, his master was on his death bed. The master told his servant that he was going on a long journey. The servant asked, "how long do you plan to be gone?" The master said, "I'll never be back." The servant asked his master if he was ready for his journey. His master said he wasn't ready. The servant asked, "did you have time to get ready?" "Yes, but I was busy doing other things." Then the servant asked, "Master, you're going on a journey from which you will never return. You had time to get ready, but you didn't do it?" The master said "yes." The servant then took his cane and gave it to his master. He said, finally, I have met a man less intelligent than I."

What is the moral of the story? Don't be so foolish doing other things and not be prepared when death invades time. "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 6:23 NIV

Se ha contado una leyenda sobre un maestro que tenía un sirviente que no era muy inteligente. De vez en cuando, la falta de inteligencia de su sirviente le molestaba. BLOG 22 - 8/7/2019                         Why Not Hate Our Enemy?                          English / Español

Many years ago, I was taken down into an underground coal mine. The thing I remember most was the darkness. If the light on the front of my hard-shell hat wasn't on, I would have stood in total darkness. I would have felt helpless. I would have not known what to do.

Hate can be likened to darkness. It is like a cancer that grows and eventually kills. It only destroys the person who hates. Jesus tells us how to deal with hate. He said, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." Matthew 5:44 NIV. Why? Doing good to them who want to destroy us is the kind of love which will never allow us to become bitter. It's a love that has the power to love those who want to persecute us. It has been said nobody who continually prays for those we are tempted to hate can continue to hate them.

I don't think Jesus is asking us to love our enemies in the same way as we love our loved ones or our dearest friends. It's a love that we will ourselves into doing. It can only be made possible through the grace of Jesus Christ. Only a person who is a Christian and has a daily personal living relationship with Jesus Christ can have this kind of love.

Hace muchos años, me llevaron a una mina subterránea de carbón. Lo que más recuerdo fue la oscuridad. Si la luz en la parte delantera de mi sombrero duro no estaba encendida, me habría quedado en total oscuridad. Me habría sentido indefenso. No habría sabido qué hacer.

El odio se puede igualar a la oscuridad. Es como un cáncer que crece y eventualmente mata. Sólo destruye a la persona que odia. Jesús nos dice cómo lidiar con el odio. Dijo, "Amen a sus enemigos y oren por quienes los persiguen". Mateo 5:44 NVI. ¿por qué? Hacer el bien a los que quieren destruirnos es el tipo de amor que nunca nos permitirá llegar a ser amargos. Es un amor que tiene el poder de amar a aquellos que quieren perseguirnos. Se ha dicho que nadie que ore continualmente por aquellos a quienes tenemos la tentación de odiar puede seguir odiándolos.

No creo que Jesús nos pida que amemos a nuestros enemigos de la misma manera que amamos a nuestros seres queridos o a nuestros amigos más queridos. Es un amor que nosotros mismos haremos. Sólo una persona que es cristiana y tiene una relación de vida personal diaria con Jesucristo puede tener este tipo de amor.

I knew a man whose name was Bob. He had the worst temper of any man I have ever known. However, when he lost his temper, I always seemed to be able to get him to calm down. Because of his bad temper a lot of problems existed in his marriage. At times, he lost his temper so badly he threatened to kill his wife. When she felt threatened, she called and asked me to go to their apartment. In the middle of the night there were several times I had to go to their apartment. I didn’t think much about putting my life in danger. However, Bob owned a gun. At times, he threatened to use his gun to kill his wife. Looking back, I realize I could have been killed.  

A leopard can’t change its spots. The same thing is true when it comes to our human nature. We can’t change our sinful nature. The Apostle Paul says, “I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.” Romans 7:15 NIV. Isn’t it true we also are in  the same predicament?

There is good news! If we put our faith and trust in God, He has the power to change who we are and to become who He wants us to be.

Conocí a un hombre que se llamaba Bob. Tenía el peor genio de cualquier hombre que haya conocido. Sin embargo, cuando perdió lo genio, siempre parecía ser capaz de conseguir que se calmara. Debido a su mal genio existían muchos problemas en su matrimonio. A veces, perdió lo genio tanto que amenazó con matar a su esposa. Cuando se sintió amenazada, me llamó y me pidió que fuera a su apartamento. En el medio de la noche había varias veces que tuve que ir a su apartamento. No pensé mucho en poner mi vida en peligro. Sin embargo, Bob tenía una pistola. A veces, amenazó con usar su pistola para matar a su esposa. Mirando hacia atrás, me doy cuenta de que podría haber sido asesinado.

Un leopardo no puede cambiar sus manchas. Lo mismo es cierto cuando se trata de nuestra naturaleza humana. No podemos cambiar nuestra naturaleza pecaminosa. El apóstol Pablo dice: "No entiendo lo que me pasa, pues no hago lo que quiero, sino lo que aborrezco.”  Romanos 7:15 NIV. ¿No es cierto que también estamos en el mismo aprieto?

¡Hay buenas noticias! Si ponemos nuestra fe y confianza en Dios, tiene el poder de cambiar lo que somos y de llegar a ser lo que Él quiere que seamos.

Have you heard the story about the young man who had stolen a lot of money from his boss?
After his boss discovered the money was missing, he asked the young man if he knew who had
stolen it? Unknown to the young man his boss had already determined he was guilty. When the young man confessed, the young man was surprised because of what his boss said. If I don't fire you can I trust you will never steal money from me again? The young man said he had learned his lesson.
Then the boss said, I think you need to know you aren't the first man who has given into temptation and stole some money from this company.What you did I did. My boss was merciful. The mercy I received I am giving you. It's only by the grace of God that He can keep us both.

The Bible tells us we are imperfect people. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:9 NIV

I know God through His Son Jesus. In Him, we have eternal life.

¿Has oído la historia del joven que le había robado mucho dinero a su jefe? Después de que su jefe descubrió que el dinero había desaparecido, le preguntó al joven si sabía quién lo había robado. Desconocido para el joven que su jefe ya había determinado que era culpable. Cuando el joven confesó, el joven se sorprendió por lo que dijo su jefe. Si no te despide, ¿puedo confiar en que nunca me volverás a robar dinero? El joven dijo que había aprendido la lección. Entonces su jefe dijo, creo que necesitas saber que no eres el primer hombre que ha dado la tentación y robó algo de dinero de esta compañía. Lo que hiciste lo hice. Me jefe era misericordioso. La misericordia que recibé te estoy dando. Es solo por la gracia de Dios que puede mantenernos a los dos.

La Biblia nos dice que somos personas imperfectas. "Si confesamos nuestro pecados, él es fiel y justo y nos perdonará nuestros pecados y nos purificará de toda injusticia." 1 Juan 1:9 NVI

In biblical times Solomon was the king of Jerusalem. He was a wealthy man. He had God-given wisdom. Solomon seemed to have everything he needed to make him happy. Unfortunately, that wasn't true. Solomon spent his life on personal pleasures. He didn't consider seeking God's wisdom as an important part of his life. As a result, he felt like he had lived a meaningless life. Wycliffe once said, "All of the pleasures and material things of life, when sought for their own sake, bring nothing but unhappiness and a sense of futility.

The Bible says there is a way we can live a meaningful and happy life. That way is through Jesus. He says, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except through me (John 14:6, NIV). Jesus loves us so much that He gave His life on the Cross. Three days later He was resurrected from the grave. As a result, Jesus had victory over sin and death. GOOD NEWS! Jesus can give us a life worth living.

En tiempos bíblicos Salomón era el rey de Jerusalén. Era un hombre rico. Tenía sabiduría dada por Dios. Salomón parecía tener todo lo que necesitaba para hacerlo feliz. Desafortunadamente eso no era cierto. Salomón pasó su vida en placeres personales. No consideró la búsqueda de la sabiduría de Dios como una parte importante de su vida. Como resultado, sintió que había vivido una vida sin sentido. Wycliffe dijo una vez: "Todos los placeres y cosas materiales de la vida, cuando se buscan por su propio bien, no traen nada más que infelicidad y una sensación de inutilidad".

It happened in the mid 1940's. The family rode a bus from Jamesport to go shopping in Trenton, Missouri. On the way back, when the bus was near Jamesport, Dad saw smoke of the horizon. When the family arrived at the bus stop, some people in Jamesport were there to greet us. They told my parents a fire had burned down the house where we lived.

The fire destroyed everything in the house except the refrigerator and a desk. All we had left was the clothes on our backs. Because my parents were poor, they didn't have the money to replace most of the things they lost. Suddenly, my parents faced a situation that seemed hopeless.

When we face the unknown what can we do? We can seek His guidance. We can trust Him. With the help of His Spirit which dwells within us, He can give us the strength to deal with difficult times.

We may not be aware of it, but God is always watching over us. My Mom told me something else about the fire in Jamesport. She said if my older brother David and I had been asleep on our metal bunk beds, there would not have been enough time to get us out the house safely. My older brother and I would have died.

Sucedió a mediados de la década de 1940. La familia montó un autobús desde Jamesport para ir de compras en Trenton, Missouri. En el camino de regreso, cuando el autobús estaba cerca de Jamesport, papá vio humo en el horizonte. Cuando la familia llegó a la parada de autobús, algunas personas en Jamesport estaban allí para saludarnos. Les dijeron a mis padres que un incendio había incendiado la casa donde vivíamos.

Puede que no seamos conscientes de ello, pero Dios siempre está velando por nosotros. Mi mamá me contó algo más sobre el incendio en Jamesport. Dijo que si mi hermano mayor David y yo hubiéramos estado dormidos en nuestras literas de metal, no habría habido suficiente tiempo para sacarnos de la casa a salvo. Mi hermano mayor y yo habríamos muerto.

One of the deacons at Bethel Baptist Church was like a surrogate father to me. Every now and then he called me at the church office just to find out if I was okay. Sometimes, instead of a phone call, he walked into my office to visit me. When I made hospital visits, if I felt it was important to have another person with me, I knew I could count on him accompanying me. I felt like I could talk to him about most anything and our conversations would be kept confidential. When he died, I felt as if I had lost a great friend and as though he was a member of my human family.

In God's family the "circle will never be unbroken." His Spirit is living within me. I know He is always available. I can talk to Him about anything. If I "listen to His voice" He will guide me down the right path. He gives me strength to face any situation. I may not be conscious of it, but God is active in the world. He is protecting me. A man was quoted as saying: "If there is any one thing about which I never have any question, it is that the decision to follow Christ does for a man what nothing else on earth can do."

Uno de los diáconos de la iglesia Bautista Bethel era como un padre sustituto para mí. De vez en cuando me llamaba a la oficina de la iglesia sólo para averiguar si estaba bien. A veces, en lugar de una llamada telefónica, entró en mi oficina para visitarme. Cuando hice visitas al hospital, si sentía que era importante tener a otra persona conmigo, sabía que podia contar con él acompañándome. Sentí que podia hablar con él sobre casi cualquier cosa y nuestras conversaciones se mantendrían confidenciales. Cuando murió, sentí como si hubiera perdido a un gran amigo y como si fuera un miembro de mi familia humana.

En la familia de Dios, el "círculo nunca será ininterrumpido". Su Espíritu vive dentro de mí. Sé que siempre está disponible. Puedo hablarle de cualquier cosa. Si "escucho Su voz" Me guiará por el camino correcto. Me da la fuerza para enfrentar cualquier situación. Puede que no sea consciente de ello, pero Dios está activo en el mundo. Me está protegiendo. Se citó a un hombre diciendo: "Si hay algo de lo que nunca tengo ninguna pregunta, es que la decision de seguir a Cristo hace por un hombre lo que nada más en la tierra puede hacer."

On the night after my junior piano recital in 1965 at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, my
parents slept in a house where Mary Lou and I planned to live after our wedding. During the night, Mom woke up because she heard something. She poked Dad. "Avery, I hear a noise in the house." Dad listened for a few moments, then said, "Margaret, I don't hear anything." Later in the night, Mom woke up again and poked Dad. "Avery, I know I hear something in the house." That time Dad got out of bed and walked into the bathroom. What he saw was a rat swimming in the toilet stool. Dad looked around the house for something he could use to kill the rat. He found a broom. He tried to drown the rat with the handle of the broom. For a little while, Mom didn't know who was going to win the battle; however, Dad eventually won the battle.

We are in a battle.The battle is for our souls. Who is winning the battle? The Lord or his adversary, Satan? If the Lord is winning the battle, we know we have eternal life. If Satan is winning, we are separated from God and face eternal destruction.

As for me, I have chosen to dedicate my life to the Lord. As a result, there is an unceasing peace and joy within me. What about you?

En la noche después de mi recital de piano junior en 1965 en la Universidad Union en Jackson, Tennessee, mi los padres dormían en una casa donde Mary Lou y yo planeamos vivir después de nuestra boda. When basic training ended at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, the army had not yet cut my orders to be shipped to Fort Gordon, Georgia. For two weeks, I waited for my orders to be cut. In the meantime, something happened that nearly shook me out of my boots. Another soldier, who I never had met in Company A, approached me when I stood in front of my barracks. "Sir, I have watched you throughout basic training. I believe you must be a Christian." Suddenly, it came to my mind, what if I had done some of the bad things I was tempted to do in basic training. Then what? What kind of influence would I have had on that soldier from Company A?

We don't live on a lonely island. Somebody is watching us all the time. We may not realize it. We might not even know the person. The example we set by our lives can have either a negative or positive influence on somebody else..

The Bible says God is always watching us. When I looked at my life as if from "the other end of the tunnel," I became more aware of some of the things God had done to protect me. His Spirit has worked in my life in such a way that He has been able to accomplish things in me that otherwise were impossible.

Cuando el entrenamiento básico terminó en Fort Campbell, Kentucky, el ejército aún no había cortado mis órdenes de ser enviado a Fort Gordon, Georgia. Durante dos semanas, esperé a que se cortaran mis órdenes. Mientras tanto, sucedió algo que casi me sacó de las botas. Otro soldado, al que nunca conocido en la Compañía A, se me acercó cuando me paré frente a mi cuartel. "Señor, lo he visto a lo largo del entrenamiento básico. Creo que debes ser Cristiano." De repente, me vino a la mente, ¿qué pasaría si hubiera hecho algunas de las cosas malas que estaba tentado a hacer en el entrenamiento básico. ¿Y luego qué? ¿Qué clase de influencia habría tenido en ese soldado de la Compañía A?

Su Espíritu ha trabajado en mi vida de tal manera que ha sido capaz de lograr cosas en mí que de otra manera eran imposibles.

Many times, I have realized I am an imperfect being. Many times, I have realized I can be easily controlled by my weaknesses. Many times, I have realized some temptations are hard to resist.

One of those times I couldn't resist a temptation was when I asked Grandpa Wooderson if I could feed the horse, Caroline. He said yes, then told me to go down inside the barn. "Climb up the side of the bin, then reach over, and get a handful of corn for Caroline," he said. On the way down to the barn I noticed something that before I had not noticed. I saw a trapdoor on the outside of the barn. It happened to be in the same area of the corn bin. I thought to myself it would be easier if I opened the trap door. Almost immediately, I noticed Grandpa was running toward me and he looked like an angry bull "out of the china closet." The Bible makes it clear we are imperfect. We can easily be controlled by our weaknesses. Sometimes, we give in to temptation. When we do something wrong in God's sight, we are guilty of a sin. Then "a barrier is erected" between us and God. The GOOD NEWS is if we admit to the Lord we have sinned and repent of it, the Lord will "wash away that sin." The "barrier" is taken down and we no longer are separated from God.  


Muchas veces, me he dado cuenta de que soy un ser imperfecto. Muchas veces, me he dado cuenta de que puedo ser fácilmente controlado por mis debilidades. Muchas veces, me he dado cuenta de que algunas tentaciones son difíciles de resistir.

Una de las veces que no pude resistir una tentación fue cuando le pregunté al abuelo Wooderson si podía alimentar al caballo, Caroline. Dijo que sí, y luego me dijo que fuera dentro del granero. " Sube por el costado del contenedor. luego alcanza y consigue un puñado de maíz para Caroline", dijo. En el camino hacia el granero noté algo que antes no me había dado cuenta. La Biblia aclara que somos imperfectos. Podemos ser controlados fácilmente por nuestras debilidades. A veces, nos damos a la tentación. Cuando hacemos algo mal a la vista de Dios, estamos culpable de un pecado. Entonces "se levanta una barrera" entre nosotros y Dios. La buena noticia es que si admitimos al Señor hemos pecado y nos arrepentimos de ello, el Señor "lavará ese pecado." La "barrera" es derribó y ya no estamos separados de Dios.

It was a Sunday morning in March of 1958. My dad and his younger preacher friend were found unconscious in a house that had be rented for a revival meeting. Dad and his younger preacher friend
slept on some old army cots that they brought with them. It was cold outside therefore dad turned on the heating stove, which was located close to where they slept. The Bible says there are three stages and two transitions of life. Do you know what they are? The three stages of life are: life in the womb, life on earth, and life beyond the grave. The two transitions of life are: birth and death. What? Physical death is not the end "of the road!" For those who love the Lord there is something much more wonderful on the other side of the grave.

Don't misunderstand me. I don't want to leave my family. I hope I will be on this earth for many more years; but when I die, I am convinced there is a place reserved for me in heaven.

La Biblia dice que hay tres etapas y dos transiciones de vida. ¿Sabes lo que son? Las tres etapas de la vida son: la vida en el vientre, la vida en la tierra y la vida más allá de la tumba. Las dos transiciones de la vida son: el nacimiento y la muerte. ¿Qué? La muerte física no es "el final de la carretera." Para los que aman al Señor hay mucho más maravilloso al otro lado de la tumba.

No me malentienda. No quiero dejar a mi familia. Espero estar en esta tierra por muchos años más; pero cuando muero, estoy convencido de que hay un lugar reservado para mí en el cielo.

When I was in basic training at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, our platoon sergeant sent us on a forced march. We had to double-time for what seemed to be many miles. Along the way, some of my comrades collapsed. My legs became so weak that I could hardly remain on my feet. My body felt like I was about to fall on my face. My side hurt. I felt out of breath. I was afraid I might not make
it to the finish line. The platoon sergeant got in my face and yelled something about how I wasn't man enough to make it to the finish line. I yelled back at him, "I'll drop dead before I quit."

Like it or not we live in an imperfect world. There will be times of pain, trouble, and suffering. None of us are going to be spared. However, the presence and power of God can make a difference in our lives. Romans 8:28 NIV says "God works for the good of those who love him." What does that mean? I think it means if we love Him, we will live the way He wants us to live. His presence and power will co-operate in all things for good with those who love Him. What do you think?


Cuando estaba en el entrenamiento básico en Fort Campbell, Kentucky, nuestro sargento de sección nos envió en una marcha forzada. Tuvimos que doblar el tiempo para lo que parecían ser muchas millas. A lo largo del camino, algunos de mis camaradas se desmayaron. Mis piernas se volvieron tan débiles que apenas podía permanecer en mis pies. Nos guste o no vivimos en un mundo imperfecto. Habrá momentos de dolor, problemas y sufrimiento. Ninguno de nosotros va a ser salvado. Sin embargo, la presencia y el poder de Dios pueden hacer una diferencia en nuestra vida. Romanos 8:28 NVI dice, "Dios trabaja para el bien de los que lo aman." ¿Qué significa eso? Creo que significa que si lo amamos, viviremos como él quiere que nosotros vivas. Su presencia y poder cooperarán en todas la cosas para bien con los que lo aman. ¿Qué te parece?

Have you ever heard "there is nothing to fear but fear itself?" Have you ever feared something so much that it changed your behavior? Did you ever overcome your fear?

On the farm, Grandpa Wooderson had a quarter-horse that was part thoroughbred. Her name was Caroline. I loved to watch her run because she could "run like the wind." I wanted to ride her, but Caroline had a mind of her own. If she didn't want you on her back, she had a way of getting rid of you.

When I fed Caroline, I always went down to the barn to get a handful of corn. I always stood on the other side of the gate to feed her. One day, I said to myself, "this is ridiculous. I don't need to be afraid of that horse. I am big enough to stand on the same side of the gate." Guess what? I regretted I made that decision. The word "fear" has two meanings in the Bible. 1. Fear in the sense of being afraid, and 2. fear in the sense of reverence. There are times I still feel afraid, but I have learned if I put my faith in God, He can take away my fear.

Have you ever been in such a hurry to get somewhere a police officer pulled you over because you were caught driving too fast? You hoped the police officer would let you off with just a warning. Instead, he gave you a speeding ticket. Maybe you were in a car accident that you knew you could of prevented if you had driven slower.

It happened on one of the late Friday afternoon trips from Trenton, Missouri to Bethany, Missouri. Dad decided to pick up Uncle Gary. He was in the high school gym and it was about time for his high school's basketball team practice to end. Dad asked me to go into the gym and let Uncle Gary know we were there to take him home. In the building all the lights had been turned off except for the lights in the gym. However, I knew where the gym was located. I was so excited to see my uncle I ran into the building. When I got to the end of the hallway, I turned right and guess what? Something totally unexpected happened! For the rest of the story you have to read the book.

¿Alguna vez has tenido tanta prisa por llegar a un lugar donde un oficial de policía te detuvo
porque te pillaron conduciendo demasiado rápido? Esperabas que el oficial de policía te hubiera dejado con sólo una advertencia. En cambio, te dio una multa por exceso de velocidad. Tal vez tuviste un accidente de auto que sabías que podías haber evitado si hubieras conducido más despacio.

Sucedió en uno de los viajes finales del viernes por la tarde de Trenton, Missouri a Bethany, Missouri. Papá decidió recoger al tío Gary. Estaba en el gimnasio de la escuela secundaria y era hora de que la práctica del equipo de baloncesto de su escuela secundaria terminara. Papá me pidió que fuera al gimnasio y que el tío Gary supiera que estábamos allí para llevarlo a casa. En el edificio todas las luces se habían apagado, excepto para las luces en el gimnasio. Sin embargo, sabía dónde estaba ubicado el gimnasio. Estaba tan emocionada de ver a mi tío que me tope con el edificio. Cuando llegué al final del pasillo, me giré a la derecha y ¿adivina qué? It happened when I was a home service insurance agent. I had left a client's home to see another client. When I got near my next stop, I saw something in my review mirror. Police cars, with their red lights on, were following me. When I stopped in my next client's parking lot, the police cars and the paddy wagon surrounded me. I had no idea why! I got out of my car with my hands lifted-up and said, "If I am a criminal, I will be more surprised than you." After my name was cleared, one of the police officers told me something that made me wonder if I should get another job.

Everyday there is something on the news about a crime that has been committed. The Bible tells us that all human beings are sinners. We fall short of being what God wants us to be.

Jesus was crucified on a Cross for our sins. It was the worst kind of execution that usually was reserved for the worst of criminals. Jesus certainly didn't deserve to die on the Cross, because He was perfect in all ways. Jesus' death on the Cross reveals the depth of His love for every human being. Jesus took the punishment for our sins. When He arose from the grave, proof was given that there is life beyond the grave.

Ocurrió cuando era agente de seguros de servicio a domicilio. Había dejado la casa de un cliente para ver a otro cliente. Cuando me acerqué a mi próxima parada, vi algo en mi retrovisor. Los coches de policía, con sus luces rojas encendidas, me estaban siguiendo. Cuando paré en el estacionamiento de mi próximo cliente, los coches de policía y un coche celular me rodeaba.¡No tenía ni idea de por qué! Salí de mi coche con las manos levantadas y le dije, "si soy un criminal, estaré más sorprendido
que tú." Despues de que mi nombre fue limpiado, uno de los policías me dijo algo que me hizo preguntarme si debía conseguir otro trabajo.

Todos los días hay algo en las noticias sobre un crimen que se ha cometido. La Biblia nos dice que todos los seres humanos son pecadores. Nos estamos quedando cortos de ser lo que Dios quiere que estemos.

Jesús fue crucificado en una cruz por nuestros pecados. Fue el peor tipo de ejecución que normalmente estaba reservada para los peores criminales. Jesús ciertamente no merecía morir en la Cruz, porque él era perfecto en todos los sentidos. La muerte de Jesús en cruz revela la profundidad de su amor por cada ser humano. Jesús tomó el castigo por nuestros pecados. Cuando se levantó de la tumba, se dio la prueba de que hay vida más allá de la tumba.

God has a way in which He can communicate with anyone. I have not heard His voice audibly; however, by way of His Holy Spirit which dwells within, He communicates with me and I with Him.
Any person that has a personal relationship with Jesus can "hear" His voice.

One of the greatest days of my life occurred in 1952. It happened when the family attended a revival meeting in a small village named Brimson, Missouri. As the evangelist spoke, something happened within me. I felt as if a heavy burden had been placed upon my shoulders, and I couldn't get rid of it. I realized something very important was missing in my life. That night, I made a decision that lifted the "heavy burden off my shoulders." My heart was filled with joy so much that "I kind of felt like a balloon that was filled with helium. At any moment, I could explode." I became so excited that I had to do something for Him. I walked to the "Fairgrounds" without telling my parents where I was. What happened?
