“…tomando el escudo de la fe…” (Efesios 6:16, LBLA)

 

El escudo que llevaba un soldado romano consistía en dos capas de madera, cubiertas de lienzos y con piel. Los dardos en llamas eran flechas o lanzas ligeras, inclinadas con tono (o posiblemente alguna otra sustancia) y luego incendiadas. Los dardos en llamas se quemarían contra el escudo cubierto de pieles sin dañar al hombre detrás de él. (La Biblia del Intérprete)

 

Los bordes de sus escudos podrían entrelazado. Con sus escudos, los soldados romanos podían hacer un muro sólido mientras marchaban hacia la batalla.

 

¿Qué intenta decirnos el apóstol Pablo en Efesios 6:16? Debemos usar el "escudo de fe" para protegernos de caer en la tentación. La fe mencionada es una fe viva.  Es un acto de la voluntad de ser obediente a El. Confiar continuamente en Sus promesas y en Su poder.

 

Nuestros escudos de fe también necesitan estar entrelazados (unidos) para formar una pared sólida para luchar contra "las flechas ardientes" de la tentación.

“…take…the sword of the Spirit…” (Ephesians 6:17, NASB)

 

We who are Christians need to remember we are at war with the forces of evil. We can win the spiritual battles, but Satan will return to fight another day.

 

Hebrews 4:12 tells us the Word of God is sharper than a than any two-edged sword. It is able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the soul.” A physical sword pierces the human body, but the Word of God pierces the heart. The more we study the Word of God the more penetrating His Word becomes in our lives.

 

PUT ON THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD

 

1. The ARMOR of God is our spiritual defense against attacks by Satan.

    2. God gives us our spiritual BREASTPLATE of righteousness.

        3. Our FEET must take the Gospel of peace wherever we go.

            4. Our SHIELDS of faith need to be joined together to form a solid wall to fight off “the

                  flaming arrows” of temptation.

                5. The HELMET OF SALVATION protects the mind which is controlled by God.

                    6. BLOG #92 LA ARMADURA de DIOS #3      2/20/2021

"y calzados LOS PIES CON EL APRESTO DEL EVANGELIO DE LA PAZ."

Efesios 6:15, NASB

 

Los soldados romanos tenían sandalias (puntillas) puestos en las suelas de sus sandalias. Les dieron tracción a los soldados para evitar que se resbalen cuando estaban en batalla.

 

Satanás ha declarado la guerra a los creyentes en Cristo. No te equivoques, es un enemigo fuerte. Para mantenerse firmes contra Satanás, los cristianos deben poner sandalias espirituales en las suelas de sus zapatos.  

 

El apóstol Pablo dice: "Por lo demás, fortaleceos en el Señor y en el poder de su fuerza.

Porque nuestra lucha no es contra sangre y carne, sino…, contra los poderes de este mundo de tinieblas, contra las huestes espirituales de maldad ...” (Efesios 6:10 y 12, NASB). Al mirar el mundo que nos rodea, las fuerzas de la oscuridad son obvias. En nuestros barrios y ciudades, vemos las fuerzas de la iniquidad.

 

La Biblia dice que los cristianos son embajadores de la paz. Los seguidores de Cristo deben estar preparados para llevar el Evangelio de la paz dondequiera que vayan. En última instancia, su objetivo debe ser establecer la paz de Dios en el mundo.

 

BLOG #94      THE AMOR OF GOD #5      2/20/2021

“… take THE HELMET OF SALVATION…” (Ephesians 6:17, NASB)

 

The helmet was an important part of a Roman soldier’s armor. In combat the head was always a major target. The helmet protected his head.

 

Paul’s message in Ephesians 6:17 was written for Christians. The Apostle Paul reminds us that we are in a spiritual battle. Satan is always at work trying to destroy the assurance we have of our salvation.

 

Paul said to the church in Corinth, “But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ” (II Corinthians 11:3, NASB). Paul feared the Corinthians like Eve would become victims of satanic lies and their minds would become corrupted.

 

THE HELMET OF SALVATION means the mind which is controlled by God. It symbolizes the power of God. If we wear THE HELMET OF SALVATION we will not be easily led astray.  

 

BLOG #90 LA ARMADURA DE DIOS #1      2/11/2021    

 

¡Las guerras son horribles! Los padres pierden hijos e hijas. Los niños pierden madres y padres.   

  

Hay otro tipo de guerra y es de naturaleza espiritual. Nosotros, que profesamos a Jesús como nuestro Salvador y Señor, somos los soldados en esa guerra. Estamos en guerra con las fuerzas del mal. Podemos ganar batallas espirituales, pero podemos estar seguros de que Satanás regresará para luchar otro día.

 

Debemos "ponernos la armadura completa de Dios" (Efesios 6:11). En este versículo, la palabra "put" sugiere la idea de la permanencia. Debemos llevar toda la armadura de Dios para resistir las tentaciones de Satanás. La Biblia dice Satanás "... engaña al mundo entero" (Apocalipsis 12:9, NASB). La Biblia dice que Satanás es "el padre de la mentira" (Juan 8:44, NASB). La palabra "Satanás" significa "nuestro adversario (oponente)". ¡Es nuestro enemigo y enemigo de Dios!

 

La armadura de Dios es una metáfora (figura del habla). La armadura de Dios es nuestra defensa espiritual contra los ataques de Satanás.

 

 

 

BLOG #93      THE ARMOR OF GOD #4      2/12/2021

“…taking up the shield of faith…” (Ephesians 6:16, NASB)

 

The shield a Roman soldier wore consisted of two layers of wood, covered with canvass and with hide. The flaming darts were arrows or light spears, tipped with pitch (or possibly some other substance) then set ablaze. The flaming darts would burn themselves out against the hide-covered shield without harming the man behind it. (The Interpreter’s Bible)

 

The edges of their shields could interlock. With their shields the Roman soldiers could make a solid wall as they marched into battle.

 

What is the Apostle Paul trying to tell us in Ephesians 6:16? We must use the “shield of faith” to protect us from falling into temptation. The faith mentioned is a living faith. It is an act of the will to be obedient to Him. To continually trust in His promises and in His power.

 

Our shields of faith also need to be interlocked (joined together) to form a solid wall to fight off “the flaming arrows” of temptation.   

 

 

 

 

 

 

           

           

 

BLOG #89      TENTACIÓN      2/7/2021

 

“Bienaventurado el hombre que persevera bajo la prueba.” (Santiago 1:12, LBLA)

 

El otro día leí un artículo sobre un hombre que creció en una familia que no creía en Dios. El joven se convirtió en cristiano. Cuando le dijo a su familia que había dedicado su vida a Jesucristo, la familia lo repudió. ¡Debe haber sido una experiencia dolorosa! Ya su fe en Dios estaba siendo puesta a prueba. El joven tuvo que tomar una decisión. ¿Iba a ser un camaleón “tipo de cristiano” o iba a vivir para el Señor?

 

Cuando era niño, tenía un camaleón. Recuerdo que disfruté poniendo al pequeño lagarto en

diferentes artículos de mi ropa. Disfruté viendo cómo su color de piel cambiaba rápidamente.

Un camaleón “tipo de cristiano” se mezcla con su entorno. Quiere ser aceptado por la multitud.

 

Mi fe en Jesús ha sido probada muchas veces. El escritor de Santiago me dice que si sigo haciendo de Jesús el Señor de mi vida, demostraré que soy un cristiano genuino.

 

Santiago 5:11 dice que los cristianos que soportan los tiempos de las pruebas a causa de su fe serán bendecidos. De hecho, serán felices.    

 

BLOG #92      THE ARMOR OF GOD #3      2/6/2021

“and having shod YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE.”

Ephesians 6:15, NASB

 

The Roman soldiers had hobnails (short nails) put on the soles of their sandals. They gave the soldiers traction to keep them from slipping when they were in battle.

 

Satan has declared war against believers in Christ. Do not be mistaken, he is a strong enemy. To stand firm against Satan, Christians must put spiritual hobnails on the soles of their shoes.  

 

The Apostle Paul says, “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might. For           our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but… against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness” (Ephesians 6:10 & 12, NASB). As we look at the world around us the forces of darkness are obvious. In our neighborhoods and cities, we see the forces of wickedness.

 

The Bible says Christians are ambassadors of peace. Christ’s followers must be ready to take the Gospel of peace wherever they go. Ultimately, their aim should be to establish the peace of God in the world.
