A VIEW OF LOVE FROM HEAVEN #4
BLOG #66    1 Corinthians 13:5    7/29/2020

God-like love does not act unbecomingly.
It does not accuse others of things done wrongly to make them feel ashamed. It is
concerned about the way something is said as much as what is said.

God-like love is not self-seeking.
It is unselfish, humble, and genuinely interested in others. “Each of us should
please his neighbor for his good, to build him up. For even Christ did not please
himself…” (Romans 15:2-3, NIV). God-like love glorifies God.

God-like love is not easily angered.
It is not quick-tempered. When, in the temple, Jesus overturned the money changers
tables He indicated there is a righteous kind of anger. The temple was to be a house of
prayer, but the money changers and those selling doves were making it a den of robbers
            (see Matthew 21:13).

God-like love keeps no record of wrongs.
It does not bear a grudge. Instead, it gives the best possible interpretation on the
motives and the conduct of others (see Philippians 4:8). In John 13:34, Jesus gives
us our marching orders. It is to love one another as I (Jesus) have loved you.
