THE BASICS OF PRAYER #6
BLOG #74 I Thessalonians 5:16-18 9/25/2020
Rejoice evermore.
Everyday
we should have joyful hearts. When we serve the Lord, we ought to have
cheerful
attitudes (see Philippians 2:17).
Pray without ceasing.
We
can continue in a spirit of prayer. We can lift-up our thoughts to the Lord when
we
are at
work, at home, or wherever we might be. When we lift-up our thoughts to the
Lord,
we become more aware of God’s presence.
In everything give thanks.
In 1
Thessalonians 5:18 the word, thanks comes from the word that means to
be
grateful or to express gratitude. Barring
tragedy or misfortune, we are to give thanks in
all circumstances
whether they be good or bad. If you cannot be thankful, it might help
if
you look upon the past mercies God has given you. The Bible says to give thanks
is the
will
of God.
I believe if you continue in
a spirit of prayer you will find the secret of continual joy!
