A TEST OF FAITH
    BLOG #60 - 6/18/2020

The Bible does not give us a lot of information about the life of Enoch. The Bible does not mention anything about his trials or tribulations. The Bible does say, “And Enoch walked with God…” (Genesis 5:24, KJV).

It is the picture of a man walking one step at a time with God. To walk with God “is to have the same goal and so to be moving in the same direction. It is to have the serene and happy sense of companionship upon the way. And it is to have unforced, spontaneous conversation as one goes along: sometimes to keep silence and feel the other’s presence, sometimes to speak out what is in one’s mind and heart, sometimes to listen to what the greater Friend will tell us of the road, what to look for on it, and the goal to which we go.” -The Interpreter’s Bible-

The Bible says Enoch “pleased God.” How did Enoch please God? It was by his faith in God. What was his reward? “By faith Enoch was translated (taken alive to heaven) that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him…” (Hebrews 11:5, KJV)

“NOW FAITH IS THE substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1, KJV). If we are to please God, we must see Him clearly with our spiritual eyes, and to know Him as a living reality.

  1. Amen! The awesomeness of the faith of Enoch to walk God. Christ walks with us, to show that we are sons of the Most High God. There is no greater opportunity for us today than to have the relationship with Christ walking in the Spirit for which there is not enough words to define it.
