BLOG #77 HOPE UNEXPECTED 1/15/2020
Part Two
Ruth said to Naomi, “Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God" (Ruth 1:16, NIV).
When Naomi returned from Moab to Bethlehem in Judah, she was very depressed and bitter. Naomi blamed God for her problems. Her bitterness caused her to be wrapped up in herself. She no more wanted to be called Naomi (which means Pleasant). She wanted to be called Mara (which means Bitter).
Naomi’s bitterness caused her to lose hope. She could
not see any possibility that her life could get better. She did not know there
was someone with her who would change her life. That person was Ruth, her daughter-in-law.
Through Ruth, God restored in Naomi’s life joy and hope
If you have a daily personal living relationship with
Jesus Christ, there is always hope. If you have confessed your sins before God.
If you have invited Jesus Christ into your life as Savior and Lord, His
Holy Spirit will come to live in you. There are no exemptions. Regardless of
what may have happened in your past His salvation is for you.
