BLOG #84    IS CHANGE A POSSIBILY? #7    12/4/2020

A farmer bought some land to grow an orange grove. When the trees started to produce oranges, they had a bitter taste. What could he do? He found a way to change the characteristics of the oranges. After the trees grew to a certain size, he took the stock of an orange tree that produced sweet-tasting oranges. Then he engrafted them into the stump. Little by little, he pruned away the branches off the old tree. Gradually, the orange trees acquired the characteristics of the trees that produced sweet tasting oranges.

For a moment, think of yourself as an orange tree. When you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, He engrafted Himself into your life. When He forgives you of sin, He prunes away a branch of your old life. Gradually, your characteristics become more like His. As you grow in Christ, more of the branches of your old life are pruned away. You will become more like Him.

DO YOU WANT TO CHANGE YOUR WAY OF LIVING? Jesus says, “I am the true vine, and My father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit, he takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, he prunes it so that it may bear more fruit” (John 15:1-2, NASB).

The Apostle Paul says, “I have been crucified (i.e.- to be condemned, to be criticized severely)   with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me…” (Galatians 2:20, NASB).
