SEVEN SIGNS THAT REVEAL WHO JESUS IS - #3

                     "Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed and walk" (John 5:8, KJV).

It was a long-established superstition people who lacked physical strength or were helpless came to the pool in Bethesda to be healed. The person had to enter the pool when the water was troubled, and he had to be the first one in the pool.

In John 5:6, Jesus asked the impotent man if he wanted to get well. Jesus knew the man had been impotent for thirty-eight years. After thirty-eight years, had the man lost hope that he could be healed? Had he become content as an impotent man?

The crippled man thought he could not pick up his bed and walk. When Jesus gave him the command, "Rise, take up your bed and walk" the man immediately "took up his bed and walked."

We can learn from this story. Various times the Lord has called me to a task. I made excuses why I could not do it. In my journey through life, I have learned if the Lord assigns me a task, He will help me get it done. The same is true with you. If the Lord assigns you a task, He will help you get it done.
