THE SEVEN "I AMs" #6

                                    Jesus says, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life;
                            no one comes to the father but through me" (John 14:6, NASB).

On our trip from Jackson, Tennessee to Indianola, Iowa my wife and I decided to take a shortcut through the bootheel of Missouri. What happened? We ended up driving in and out of two counties multiple times. We feared we were lost. We didn't know which way to go.

On multiple occasions, Jesus told His disciples where He was going. Simon Peter didn't understand what the Lord meant. He asked Jesus, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life (John 6:68, NASB)."Jesus is the leader on the highway which leads to God. Only through Him, do we have access to the Heavenly Father.

Jesus is the truth. He is the embodiment of truth. He is the source of truth. The Apostle Paul says, "For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes..." (2 Corinthians 1:20, NASB). That is, we can be confident His words are true.

Jesus is the life. He said to Martha, "I am the resurrection and the life..." (John 11:25, NASB). In reference to Jesus the Apostle John says, "In Him was life, and that life was the Light of men"
(John 1:4, NASB). It is a life He gives us which makes alive the joy of eternal life.
