                                                           THE SEVEN "I AMs" #4
                                                             Blog #37 - 1/9/2020

"I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep." (John 10:11, KJV)

Who are you? What kind of person are you? Are you living a life that others can follow safely?
In the Bible, what does it mean to be a good shepherd? A good shepherd is morally good. Because of his love for them a good shepherd takes care of his flock. A good shepherd lays down his life for his sheep.

The shepherd who doesn't own the sheep is more likely to run away when he faces danger. Because he doesn't own the sheep he doesn't care as much. He is working to make money.

Jesus says He is the good shepherd. In the Bible, the sheep represent His followers who are the church. Jesus tells us no man can have greater love than to give his life for his friends. Jesus did that very thing for us. Jesus loves us so much He gave His life on the Cross of Calvary for our sins. Three days later He arose from the dead so we can have eternal life. Not just a life unending, but a quality of life that the world cannot give us.
