BLOG #101      EL TESTIMONIO DEL APÓSTOL JUAN DE JESÚS #6      4/23/2021     

Juan 1:29-34

Juan el Bautista llamó a Jesús el Cordero de Dios." (Juan 1: 29 y 36). Dos discípulos anónimos y Nathanael lo llamaron Rabino ((Juan 1:38, 49). Andrés lo llamó el Mesías, que tradujo significa Cristo (Juan 1:41). Juan el Bautista y Nathanael llamaron a Jesús hijo de Dios (Juan 1:34, 49). Jesús era el Hijo del Hombre (Juan 1:51).

                       

El Cordero de Dios pagó el sacrificio final en la Cruz. Jesús murió y surgió para que viviéramos.  Rabino significa maestro. Cristo es un título que significa el Ungido. El Hijo de Dios tenía una relación extraordinaria con Dios como Padre. En el Antiguo Testamento era el título del rey mesiánico. El Hijo del Hombre es el nombre por el cual Jesús se refirió con mayor frecuencia a sí mismo. Jesús enseñó a Sus discípulos:  "Y comenzó a enseñarles que el Hijo del Hombre debía padecer muchas cosas, y ser rechazado …y ser muerto, y después de tres días resucitar."  (Marcos 8:31, LBLA).

 

Romanos 3:23 nos dice que todos somos pecadores. Afortunadamente, Jesús nos ha dado una promesa. Si confesamos nuestros pecados, Él es fiel y justo para perdonarnos los pecados y para limpiarnos de toda maldad (1 Juan 1:9, LBLA). Es como si Él toma nuestros pecados y los arroja a la parte más profunda del océano. Somos pecadores que podemos ser salvos por la gracia de Dios (favor inmerecido).

BLOG #103      THE APOSTLE JOHN’S WITNESS OF JESUS #8      4/23/2021

John 1: 43-51

 

Like Andrew, Philip was so excited he could not keep the Good News to himself. Philip found Nathanael and said, we have found Him of whom Moses in the Law and the prophets wrote. (John 1:45, NASB) Jesus said, if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me (John 5:46, NASB).

 

The Bible says Joseph and Mary lived in a city called Nazareth. This was to fulfill what was spoken through the prophets: He (Jesus) shall be called a Nazarene (Matthew 2:23, NASB).

 

When Nathanael questioned if anything good could come out of Nazareth Philip said, Come and see. Philip encouraged Nathanael to find out for himself who Jesus was. When Jesus saw Nathanael He said, Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom there is no deceit (John 1:47, NASB).  Nathanael must have been in a state of shock when he found out Jesus knew his inmost thoughts! The Lord’s supernatural knowledge and the witness of Philip erased all doubts of who Jesus was.

 

Like Nathanael, the Lord also knows our thoughts. If today Jesus told us what He knows about us what would He say?

Juan 1:19-27

Cuando Juan el Bautista comenzó su ministerio público, los israelitas tenían una mayor esperanza de que el Mesías estaba a punto de liberarlos del cautiverio romano. Algunos de los líderes judíos se preguntaban si Juan el Bautista podría ser el Mesías prometido. Cuando le preguntaron, Juan dijo: "No".

 

Si Juan no fuera el Mesías ¿podría ser una figura de expectativa de tiempo final? ¿Podría ser Elías? Dijo que Elías antes que venga el día del Señor (Malaquías 4:5, LBLA). Sus discípulos le preguntaron, diciendo: ¿Por qué, pues, dicen los escribas que Elías debe venir primero

 (Mateo 17:10, LBLA)? II Reyes 1:8 y Marcos 1:6 indican que Elías y Juan el Bautista fueron iguales en apariencia. Cuando se le preguntó a Juan si era Elías, dijo: "No". Y le preguntaron: ¿Entonces qué? ¿Eres el profeta (1:21, LBLA)? Era una referencia obvia al profeta Moisés (Deuteronomio 18:15-18). Una vez más, Juan el Bautista dijo: "No".

 

¿Quién era entonces Juan el Bautista? Él dijo: Yo soy LA VOZ DEL QUE CLAMA EN EL DESIERTO, ENDEREZAD EL CAMINO DEL SEÑOR. (Juan 1:23, LBLA). Juan sabía que algunas de las personas querían elevarlo a una posición mayor que la suya. Juan demostró que era un hombre humilde cuando dijo:  El que viene detrás de mí, la tanga de cuya sandalia no soy digno de desatar  

(Juan 1:27, LBLA).

BLOG #102      THE APOSTLE JOHN’S WITNESS OF JESUS #7      4/16/2021

John 1:35-42

Once again John the Baptist is pointing his two disciples to Jesus. Why did they want to spend time with Jesus? I do not know, but it seems obvious they wanted to get to know Jesus better.

 After the two disciples spent some time with Him, they were convinced He was the Messiah.  Andrew was so excited he could not keep the good news to himself. Andrew told his brother we have found the Messiah, which translated means Christ (John 1:41, NASB). He brought his brother to Jesus. Andrew was a man who felt compelled to bring others to Jesus.

Jesus asked the disciples, what do you seek? (John 1:38, NASB) It is a fundamental question of life that we need to ask ourselves. What are we looking for? Could it be we have turmoil in our souls, and we are trying to find peace within? Could it be we are trying to find peace with God? The only way we can find that peace is through Jesus Christ.

 In John 1:42 (NASB) Jesus said, Simon the son of John you shall be called Cephas, which means a rock. It took time before that happened, but Jesus not only sees who we are, He also sees who we can become.

BLOG #99 EL TESTIMONIO DEL APÓSTOL JUAN DE JESÚS #4    4/9/2021   

Juan 1: 14-18

 

Dios se ha revelado de varias maneras. En la encarnación (apariencia en forma humana) la Palabra (Jesús) se convirtió en hombre. Y se transfiguró de ellos; y su rostro resplandeció como el sol, y sus vestiduras se volvieron blancas como la luz (Mateo 17:2, LBLA). Era conocido como  Shekinah, el símbolo visible de Dios. Jesús es la verdadera Shekinah.

 

Jesús estaba lleno de gracia y verdad. No hay límite a la gracia de Dios para Su pueblo. "La Ley reveló sólo una parte de la verdad... (la) verdad completa hacia la cual la Ley señaló vino a través de la persona de Jesucristo" (Juan MacArthur).

 

Nadie ha visto jamás a Dios; el unigénito Dios (Juan 1:18, LBLA). Adam Clarke dice: "La Palabra y el único engendrado son idénticos". La Luz (vv. 7 y 8) es idéntica a la Palabra encarnada. Jesús dice, "... nadie conoce al Hijo, sino el Padre, ni nadie conoce al Padre, sino el Hijo, y aquel a quien el Hijo se lo quiera revelar" (Mateo 11:27, NASB).

BLOG #101      THE APOSTLE JOHN’S WITNESS OF JESUS #6      4/9/2021

John 1:29-34

 

John the Baptist called Jesus the Lamb of God.” (John 1: 29 & 36). Two unnamed disciples and Nathanael called Him Rabbi ((John 1:38, 49). Andrew called Him the Messiah, which translated means Christ (John 1:41). John the Baptist and Nathanael called Jesus the Son of God (John 1:34, 49). Jesus was the Son of Man (John 1:51).

                       

The Lamb of God paid the ultimate sacrifice on the Cross. Jesus died and arose that we might live. Rabbi means teacher. Christ is a title meaning the Anointed One. The Son of God had an extraordinary relationship with God as Father. In the Old Testament it was the title of the messianic king. The Son of Man is the name by which Jesus most frequently referred to himself. Jesus taught His disciples, “the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected … and be killed, and after three days rise again” (Mark 8:31, NASB).

 

Romans 3:23 tells us we are all sinners. Thankfully, Jesus has given us a promise. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9, NASB). It is as if He takes our sins and throws them into the deepest part of the ocean. We are sinners who can be saved by God’s grace (undeserved favor).

BLOG #98      EL TESTIMONIO DEL APÓSTOL JUAN DE JESÚS #3      4/4/2021

 

El libro de Juan fue escrito por Juan que fue uno de los doce discípulos de Jesús.Su nombre no se menciona en el libro. El hombre es Juan el Bautista.

 

Fue testigo del verdadero Mesías. Juan el Bautista dijo que Jesús es la verdadera Luz del mundo. ¿Qué significa la Luz? Jesús revela (ve) lo que hay en nuestros corazones. La Biblia dice, por cuanto todos pecaron y no alcanzan la gloria de Dios (Romanos 3:23, LBLA). Jesucristo sólo puede liberarnos del pecado.   

 

Debemos creer en el Mesías que es nuestro verdadero Libertador. Confesar que Él es divino, que es el Hijo de Dios y poner nuestra fe en Él. A los que tenemos fe en Jesucristo se nos da la autoridad (derecho) de ser hijos de Dios.

 

Cuando estaba en las montañas Blue Ridge de Carolina del Norte, tuve una experiencia que me hizo sentir como si estuviera en el cielo. Mientras miraba por encima del paisaje todo estaba cubierto de una neblina azul. Una vez más, me sorprendió que Dios hubiera creado una tierra hermosa. Cuando vemos la belleza en la naturaleza, ¿cómo no podemos creer en Dios?

John 1:19-27

 

When John the Baptist started his public ministry, the Israelites had a greater hope the Messiah was about to deliver them from Roman captivity. Some of the Jewish leaders wondered if John the Baptist could be the promised Messiah. When he was asked John said, “No.”

 

If John was not the Messiah, then could he be a figure of end-time expectation? Could he be Elijah? Malachi 4:5 said Elijah was coming before the day of the lord. Matthew 17:10, NASB said, the disciples asked Jesus why the scribes say that Elijah must come first (Matthew 17:10, NASB). II Kings 1:8 and Mark 1:6 indicate Elijah and John the Baptist were alike in appearance. When John was asked if he was Elijah he said, “No.” John was asked, Are you the Prophet (John 1:21, NASB)? It was an obvious reference to the prophet Moses (Deuteronomy 18:15-18). Again, John the Baptist said, “No.”

 

Who then was John the Baptist? He said, I am A VOICE OF ONE CRYING IN THE WILDERNESS, MAKE STRAIGHT THE WAY OF THE LORD (John 1:23, NASB). John knew some of the people wanted to elevate him to a position greater than what was rightfully his. John showed he was a humble man when he said, He who comes after me, the thong of whose sandal I am not worthy to untie (John 1:27, NASB).
